empty words promising an eternal devotion
bound me to your lies and ersatz emotions
the uncertainty of our tomorrow
only heightened my sorrow
perfect deliverance of rehearsed lines
left me hopelessly intertwined
in your staged schematics of deceit
desperately in love, I admitted defeat
Blinding my eyes I foolishly stayed
Even at the zenith of our volatile escapade
You bought my heart when I sold you my innocence
With the exchange began your display of decadence
as the audience claps and the curtain rises
I’m appalled by your many disguises
the tears are falling but the love has faded
my shattered heart has become purely jaded
